IPhones VS Androids,Their Differences and Similarities

IPhones VS Androids,Their Differences and Similarities

There is a buzz of excitement in the media and telecommunication circle as iPhone and Android users vie for which is the champion in its class when it comes to mobile technology. Looking from a productivity standpoint, both devices do have their differences and similarities. However, depending on the respective categories to which they serve, there is always one that has a competitive edge. We will look at each mobile device in each category of choice to ascertain which one stands out. The areas called to question in this smartphone saga are: Logging in features, taking photos, making calls, managing storage, entertaining users and last but not least, engaging social media.

Logging In

Logging-in to one’s device could be the first test of patience and tolerance since it is the first thing we do prior to using other features of the phone. The iPhones TouchID fingerprinting sensor technology is considered the safest way to allow authorized users access to the device as each fingerprint is unique to each person on the planet. Although Android users have similar technology, iPhones is the true patented leaders when it comes to this feature.

In a closers comparison, the Android has a smart screen lock technology that uses face recognition to allow access to the device but often times this proves less secure than the TouchID feature. While this concedes that iPhone is the preferred choice in this category, there might be other features of that the Android users prefer such as making calls.

Making Calls

Now that social distancing becomes the new norm, “Facetime” calls have proven its worth and again, iPhone users are smiling cheek to cheek with this feature. In as much as it preferred in the category, Android users bridge the gap by using other apps such as WhatsApp to connect virtually with their contacts. However, it’s not the same as “Facetime.”

Contrary to the latter, Android technology boast its user-friendly contact-listing feature which is considered superior compared to the iPhone. All contacts are arranged sequentially to recent and most frequent calls. This convenient feature allows for easy retrieval and recollection of calls. However, one would say; “who needs that when you can put a face to a call!”

Selfies and Snap Shots

And speaking of putting pictures to faces, photo-taking is believed to be the number one feature for most smartphone users. iPhone again seem to lead on top when it comes to capturing moments with precision and quality. While both share its advantages and disadvantages depending on the skills of their users, one thing that stands out: photo arrangement and storage. Unreservedly, Android happens to outdo iPhone in that category as Google Photo stores pictures and manage them.

Storage

Storage plays a big part of data collection and one could give the feature a big score when deciding which device to use. If one is a photographer, graphic artist or an entertainer who is thinking of an affordable device that can manage data, then he or she most likely would choose an Android smartphone. Why, because it doesn’t require upgrade when the capacity to store file runs out. There are expandable SD cards as well as cloud storage that are accessible.

In a contrasting light, the iPhone does have its share of the cloud storage option by having its file in iClouds. This is similar to Google Photo but the difference with their internal storage is that it doesn’t carry an expendable SD slot and once users exceed their physical storage capacity, they have to upgrade their smartphones to a newer and more updated device. If one is an entertainer and can afford to do this, a smart suggestion is to get an iPhone because the next feature outdoes all other features!

Entertainment

Videos and music draw a high percentage of smartphone users and it is important to have a device that delivers quality and precision. The iPhone speaks loud when it comes to packing punches. According to CNN Business Magazine, the iPhone is the premier device for unlimited and consistent repertoire of music for its users. However, the difference with iPhone Apple platform is that the music is not free while Android users enjoy free music which we all know is supported by ads.

In order to ascertain a winner in this category, we look at quality of delivery and since entertainment speaks for itself, the iPhone drops its mic and declares victory.

Social Media

While iPhone declares its dominance in entertainment, Android challenges its opponent when it comes to social media engagements. This becomes an alarming fact due to its unrestricted access which emanates from the Android’s affordable cost.

Contrary to this, the iPhone is known to bore many holes in the pockets of consumers. However, there is a line of demarcation when it comes to new features and upgrades and if one does not have an iPhone, he or she might be left behind in the field of technology.

In the business world, new apps are emerging every day to improve productivity. If one is a social media manager, it would suit him or her to be smartly equipped with the latest devices to handle his or her market. The iPhone outdo the Android when it comes to meeting these hi-tech demands. However, when it comes to the ease of communication and user-friendly benefits, we could undoubtedly say the Android stands out.

According to CNET, both the iPhone and Samsung have tipped the market in terms of features and benefits to their respective users. One particular article from CNET explained that depending on the device one uses to communicate to his or her respective mate, communication holds the key to his or her future’s love life. This means no matter the device we use to communicate, tradition, culture and expectancy plays a predominant role in deciding which is more effective in communicating.

The Final Count

The logging in feature opens up a plethora of promises to its excited user yet both phones captures memorable moments in various expressive ways. While there are compromises during these Kodak moments, each user is satisfied at the end.

After the exciting encounters, storage plays a significant part in determining what stays or what is deleted from the devices and we become entertained by what we decide to keep. We also share these events through a network of inquisitive audience who can’t wait to view and respond.

The similarities and differences highlight the advantage and disadvantages within each category of features and we decide which device brings us satisfaction. We have singled out winners in some of the mentioned categories however; we cannot say which is more dominant and more preferable than the other because every moment and category is unique to its user.

In determining a winner, one wouldn’t rely only on users’ decisions but the audience (third parties) who also experience the results (delivery of services). They are the ones who form part of the decision-making process. Therefore, I leave it to each reader to determine the winner: iPhone VS Androids. For me, I say both have their places in the telecommunication world.
