The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has recei.ed financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Second Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project (SUWSSP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Procurement of Pipes and Fittings for Covid-19 intervention in 13 Towns in Two Lots.

Bidders shall furnish documentary evidence that it meets the following requirement(s); 

  1. Bidders must have undertaken at least 2(two) Contracts successfully completed implementations of the supply and delivery of goods for each lot with a similar size, nature and complexity during the last 3 (three) years supported with names of clients, type and value of contracts. 
  2. Audited financial statements of the firm for the last 3 (three) years to confirm an average annual financial turnover twice of the offered price for each lot. 
  3. Documentary evidences the bidder shall furnish as part of its Bid the documentary evidence that the Goods conform to the technical specifications and usage standards specified in section VII. Schedule of Requirements. 

Bidding will be conducted through the Modified International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers Guidelines for Procurement of Goods, Works, and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants, issued by the World Bank in January 2011,revised 2014 “Procurement Guidelines”, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest. 

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Water Development Commission, and inspect the bidding documents during office hours 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Local time at the address given below. 

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of ETB 300.00 (Three Hundred only) or $10.00 (ten USD). The method of payment will be in cash. 

Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 07 October 2020 at 14:00 hours (2:00 P.M).Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below on 07 October, 2020 at 14:30 hours (2:30 P.M). 

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of ETB 65,000.00 (Sixty Five Thousand Birr) for Lot one and ETB 100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Birr) for lot two or in freely convertible currency.
