1. About gain 

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN,)is Swiss based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tacle the human suffering caused by montation Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transion foodsystems so that they deliver more nutritious food for people, 

At GAIN, we believe that everyone in the world should have access to nutatious and safe food. We work to undrestand and deliver specific solutions to the daily challenge of food insecurity faced by poor people. By understanding that there is no “one-size-fits-all” model, wo develop alliances ond build tailored prograromes, using o variety of ferible models and approaches. 

We build alliances between governments, foco and global businesses, and civil society to deliver sustoradie improvements of scale. We are part of a global network of partners working together to creote sustainable solutions to malnutrition. Through alliances, we provide technical, financial and policy suppori to key panicipants in the food system We use specific learning, evidence of impoct, and results of projects and programmes to shape and influence the actions of others. 

Headquartered in Genevo, Switzerland. GAN representative offices in Denmark, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United Stoies. In addition, we have country offices in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya. Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, ond Tanzania. Programmes and projects are carried out in a variety of other countries. particularly in Africa and Asia. 

2. Background 

One of our programs in Ethiopia is supporting food fortification. Food fortification is one of the key strategies endorsed by the Government of Ethiopia to reduce micronutrient deficiencies Ensuring sustainable access to quality premix( vitamins and Minerals) is an essential aspect of a successful fortification programme. To ensure the sustainability of the premix supply and distribution system GAIN in collaboration stakeholders is working to develop the capacity of public and private sector to ensure availability of premix locally. 


  • Establish a local premix supply and distribution system to support edible oil and wheat four fortification 
  • Creating access to premix for millers and oil producers locally with local currency 

4. Seeking expressions of Interest: 

Requirements to be the capacity development program 

  • A legally registered entity 
  • Expressed interest to work in premix (vitamins and minerals used to fortify food products) importing and distribution 

Expressions of interest should include: 

A detailed background of the organization and experience related to importing and distribution
