OXFAM In Ethiopia:

Oxfam in Ethiopia is an international NGO working on humanitarian and long-term development programs in the country since 1974. Gender Justice is one of the priorities of Oxfam and hence, Oxfam implements standalone gender projects in addition to gender integration on projects and programs to promote gender equality and women empowerment. Currently, Oxfam in Ethiopia is going to implement a WE-CARE project Phase IV targeting unpaid care and domestic works (UCDW).

The WE-Care project aims to increase the recognition of UCDW in public policy, reduce heavy and timeconsuming UCDWs through investments in essential public services and infrastructure, redistribute the responsibility for UCDW more equally between men and women, and between households and the state, and ensure that women with care responsibilities are represented in the planning and implementation of budgets and policies that affect their lives. WE-Care is working to scale-up the civil society-led advocacy to push for tangible policy commitments on UCDW at sub-national, national, regional, and international levels. It will support stronger engagement with national sectoral ministries such as water and energy, Health, Labour and social affairs, planning commission, Ministry of women and children affairs and etc.

Before the project implementation commences, Oxfam would like to conduct a Baseline study at focused in Addis Ababa. Therefore, this advertisement is to invite interested and experienced consultants to apply for the bidding process.
